AUTHOR:Tim Simons (Tairua)

Our office in Tairua is proud to offer a comprehensive range of land development services to support your building projects throughout the entire Coromandel Peninsula.

It is worth noting that, under recent rule changes, you many construct a single-storey detached building such as sleepouts, sheds and greenhouses, without the need for a building consent, provided that the floor area does not exceed 30m² and that kitchen or bathroom facilities are not included. Additionally, the electrical work must be carried out by a registered electrician.

However, it is important to remember that you must still adhere to council Land Use Rules, including maximum building height, height in relation to boundary, and yard setbacks. For instance, if you plan to build a non-consented building, it is crucial to identify your boundaries on site to ensure compliance with the minimum yard setbacks for your zone.

Our services relating to building work include:

  • Marking legal boundary positions
  • Site or topographical surveys
  • Set-out of proposed buildings
  • Establishing height datums
  • General land use and subdivision

We have offices in Auckland, Pukekohe, Tairua, Tauranga and Hamilton with knowledgeable staff familiar with district plans and rules regarding your property for any development that may occur. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
